Licensing and Registration:
Yes that is part of maintenance. Most states require water craft to be licensed. Check with your states laws for this.

Checking that the seams are tight and there are no holes:
Place your boat in the water, do you see any water coming in places other than just from water splash. If so then find the area and mark it, next you will want to buy some water proof clear patching material and patch the hole or seam. Make sure it is dry before you patch it otherwise the leak may continue and also make sure it is dry before you put it back on the water. It is good to do this check whenever you are out on the water for an extended period of time.

Paint:
Does your aluminum boat need the paint touched up. If so make sure you use paint designed for Aluminum Watercraft a boat store in your area should have or be able to get what you need.
