Types of Aluminum Boats

Aluminum boats have been the fisherman's mainstay for decades. Improvements in construction have led to lighter boats with less of a propensity to leaking through rivet holes.

V bottom boats are one popular type of aluminum boat. Most are designed for fishing or hunting and cutting through water efficiently. Some V bottoms are big enough to be classified as cabin cruisers and are capable of handling high horsepower motors.

Flat bottom boats offer the stability of a flat surface and can move through very shallow water. They're certainly not for the faint of heart on big waters, but for shallow lakes and river backwaters, these boats are ideal.

Aluminum canoes have been used recreationally for a long time. They're excellent for just about every kind of lake and river. They're durable, can take being banged around, and provide relative comfort and leg room when traveling downstream around logs and rocks.
